Exercise is what keeps our body in shape. It is a word that embodies discipline, work ethic and motivation. However, a certain aspect of exercise which rarely gets a mention is recreation. Exercise is the best form of recreation physically, and it keeps our mind and body healthy. It is underappreciated how much exercise can do for our morale. Exercise releases endorphins, which make us feel good about ourselves. However, there are ways and practices by which we can make our exercise more enjoyable and more productive at the same time. Here are seven such ways.

  1. Incorporate Some Moves

Who doesn’t like to groove to some music? Dancing is entertaining, full of life and energy, fun, and most importantly, excellent cardio. Dancing is an amazing way to burn calories while having the time of our lives. For people who enjoy dancing, putting on some music and grooving to the beat will make for an excellent cardio session. For those who do not dance, enrolling in a dance class and learning a few moves won’t harm their fitness levels in the slightest. Dancing, whether natural or not, is an exercise one must practise, in order to enjoy their workout session.

  1. Get Sporty

Developing an interest in the physical aspect of loving a sport is crucial in order to incorporate it into our training routine. Sports encourage muscle training, mental health and high fitness levels. Furthermore, sport establishes discipline and routine, which is essential for effective exercise. The combination of entertainment and discipline is a highly effective one, and one reaps rewards when they pick up the sport as a workout option. Workouts must be considered fun to be followed regularly, and sport helps in to maintain the fun factor in exercise.

  1. Experiment In The Gym

Tweaking gym techniques and methods can also help out when it comes to making routine exciting. Using custom gym accessories like wrist watches for men, kettlebells, weighted balls and skipping ropes can make workouts more entertaining than machines and weights. Mixing up our workout regime is key to looking forward to a workout session, as our brain is attracted to opportunity and the chance to practise something different has appealed to it. Routine kills a training routine, and our body and mind often appreciate a change every now and then, when it comes to how much we look forward to a workout.

  1. Workout Buddies

Having company feels good most of the time, as humans’ brains are wired so that we interact with people. Having a workout buddy never goes amiss, as our minds are kept busy talking to the other person through the workout. Be it light training or an intensive, heavy workout, someone whose company we can look forward to is a massive help when it comes to exercise. Talking takes our mind off things. However, when it comes to working out, talking can increase motivation and make time fly, because time flies when one enjoys doing something.

  1. Music

People are found wearing workout headphones while working out so often nowadays that it has almost become a habit to most gym goers. This, however, is for a reason. Having good music on while working out boosts morale and increases work efficiency. Music lifts our spirits and having a groovy dance number pounding on our ears increases adrenaline and makes our workouts more enjoyable as well as more productive.

  1. Apparel

What we wear to the gym affects how good we feel about ourselves. Wearing overly tight or loose clothing will affect our confidence and, hence, our morale. Fitting and comfort are the two ideas which are required to be right in order to maximise our confidence when we are sweating it out in the gym. Using custom T-shirts which are printed according to choice also helps boost our confidence as we relate to these T-shirts. Gym apparel is a vital tool with the view to increase how much we enjoy our time working out.

  1. Reward Yourself

Positive reinforcement is always beneficial when we try to achieve a target. This tactic can also be used in order to increase the satisfaction we get after a workout session, and how much we enjoy our session. Rewarding yourself with a good flavour whey protein shake or a shopping treat after a fitness goal is achieved is an excellent way to stay motivated and look forward to workout days. Rewards act as a personal motive, which can increase our work efficiency, and with it, provide us with a physical as well as psychological reward.

Working out is not always necessarily associated with fun. However, with these tips, exercise can be made a stimulating experience for both mind and body and can be made enjoyable. Spicing up our exercise days, and letting our workouts be more innovative works like a charm in getting the best out of us in terms of productivity as well.
